"Major problem with Niantic Tech Support"
#PokemonGO: As I am currently a victim of account theft, I simply want to shine valuable light to what is currently happening. To everyone regarding to playing Pokemon go, please understand that if something were to happen to your account, Niantic will most likely be unable to help your recovery. Here is my personal story that happened a little more than a week ago.1) My facebook doesn't have a 2-factor authentication which allowed the hacker to gain control of my account and thus took over my pokemon go. I regain control of my Facebook, fortunately. 2) Hacker unlinked my account, which was only through Facebook, and linked to his/her own. 3) I sent a ticket to Niantic and was only prompt to added an additional e-mail to my facebook. All which I followed and also provided picture of my process. 4) The e-mail communication can take up to a day before anyone respond. And even then, it was mainly automated respond with little to no helping advise other than to rinse and repeat. "Add e-mail to facebook and share to pokemon go app..."5) After nearly 30 message going back and forth, they basically gave me this message to end the communication."For your account security, we urge you not to share your account information with anyone or log into any third-party Pokémon GO sites. If you end up losing access to your account, we can only assist in recovering it, provided that:*Your account was compromised no more than 72 hours ago. *Your account has no previous or existing punishments for violating our Terms of Service. *And you can provide evidence of ownership." 6) I responded back, "I contacted you guys within the same days or two, which meets the criteria of 72 hours. I Also provided indisputable evidence that I am the owner... What seems to be the problem?"7) Their response, "Sadly, you do not meet the criteria, as this account has received punishments previously and we cannot help you with this." Which is an absolute lies, as I never received any form of punished/warning or suspension. But what can I do at this point? they can just as easily just fabricate any form of misdemeanor onto my account and there's is nothing I can do about it. All for the sake of shutting me up.SO! What does this do in a long run for victim like me? for one, it promotes account stealing and account selling, as the hacker knows that there is little to nothing the victim can do to get their account back. don't believe me? Google search "Pokemon go account sale" and you'll see directly that there are hundreds of website site dedicated into selling/buying.For another, it also leaves the victim feeling utterly powerless and worst - hopeless that they are being ignored and humiliated. So for the sake of a better change there needs to be some major break through with the flawed system.1) Niantic, please advocate a better system into returning the victim's account. If they can provide indisputable evidence + answered all of your questions, there shouldn't be any reasonable doubt to believe the victim. It shouldn't be a run around in circle - rather a seamless procedure.2) You guys REALLY need to crack down on the selling website. By ignoring these site to thrive, you're basically just as bad as they are. So please kick down some door and show that you're with the victim/honest players and not the baddies.Lastly, I know I'm just a single voice and not much is going to change, but I basically dedicated myself into contacting any lost account victim to contact BBB or Better of Business Bureau and file a complaint. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/3zNUfLZ
