"If Pokemon were real and you could only have one pokemon be your partner for life, what pokemon would you choose?"

For the sake of discussion and balance, let's say you can't have any legendary Pokémon, though they do exist in the world. Additionally, you CAN choose ditto, BUT it can't transform into other Pokémon, instead being able to transform into anything except other pokemon, within reason of course.You and your Pokémon would effectively have the same bond that Ash and Pikachu have, and you'd be able to understand your Pokémon, despite not actually speaking a normal language.Edit: Forgot about Mythicals; same rule applies to them as it does legendaries, you can't claim one BUT they do exist in the world. Mostly because I've seen a couple people claim Jirachi to bring in all the mons, but I figure in this little hypothetical, everyone gets their own personal Pokémon partner.Also, to reiterate, Ditto can NOT transform into any other Pokémon in this case, and you can't have like, Smeargle copy a ditto or whatever, otherwise it'll follow the same rules. Y'all sneaky ones tryin' to game the system lolEdit 2: I wanna gush a little about my pick; I'd definitely have to choose one of my 3 all time faves.Totodile/Feraligatr is easily my go to pick because he was the first pokemon that really stuck with me from childhood. Plus, I just love his design!!Second would be Sableye if I wanted something more practical, and he's such an adorable little gem goblin.Third, and definitely my number one pick if starters were off the table would be Scolipede; that Pokémon holds a lot of memories for me from my first actual game experience, and was one that really stuck out to me as a pretty awesome mon.
