"How would you feel about Gen 9 not introducing any new Pokemon, in favor of polishing the existing ones?"

We've been using the same models since XY. I get they're "future proof" and work fine enough, but there's definitely room for improvement. For example, all Pokemon at the moment are flat colored. The texture-work doesn't need to be Pokken levels of detail, but isn't it nice seeing even a slight fur pattern on Eevee's neck fluff in LGPE? What if we got more of that? Give Pokemon faint scales, make some look softer or more furry, make the leaves on grass types look like leaves. Improve animations too. Focus on giving existing Pokemon more personality.Of course, it would ONLY be for one generation, but the benefits would carry into every game released after. Sure, we wouldn't get new Pokemon for a gen... but wouldn't it be nice to see the bar for future games rise just a little bit, and feel like the Pokemon that you already know and love are getting the attention they deserve? A move like this would feel like it's establishing a new generation. What do you think? Would that be a worth-while, temporary trade-off? via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3n9972K
