"I would love it if a future game had a fake evil team (but would still have a separate villain)"
Hear me out. I know evil teams are quite a fundamental part of the game, and that some people don’t like how that the last two major teams (Skull and Yell) are more like thugs or a gang that you meet that some of the higher ups just happen to be very villainous. What I think would be quite funny is that a mainline game has a Villainous team, but they are very not villainous in that they are hired by whoever oversees the gyms or the champion in that region as a sort of challenge for trainers. Like very bad acting, mentions of keeping to script, members mentioning forgetting half of their costumes, dialogue of them asking their Pokemon to pretend to be bullied, dropped scripts mentioned in short cutscenes when they run away, each have a Pokemon HQ badge to identify themselves to regular people that they aren’t doing anything bad, dialogue mention of them being part of an acting company from other NPCs etc. Like it is very obvious that they are not doing anything wrong and only bother trainers taking part in the gyms. Like later it could be revealed that it is all set up, as they saw that regions which have a villainous team produce stronger/ better bonded trainers, and since they didn’t have a team like that in their region. However, there would still be actual villains, seen throughout but a lot more mysterious, or some people in obviously fake costumes causing some havoc later games, thus blaming it on the fake team. This then allows for the player to actually beat the actual villain of the game like normal, while also having a light hearted ‘villainous’ team that have more purpose than just being there via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3JWpr0v
