"How did you enter the Pokemon fandom?"

A lot of people would say they came from the gen 1-4 anime,some would say they grew up from the gen 1-4 games. New players mostly came from SWSH or SM. Some would even say it was recommended to them from a friend.Mine is...different,as you see I grew up from BW anime.NOT GAME,but anime.The series basically appeared in my channel and I couldnt stop binging it. I never had that much fun with fictional animals fighting and kids just screaming at them. I like how Ash gets reverse plot armor from the start against Trip. Cilan and Iris were fun and I like how Ash wasnt the only one catching pokemon.The pokemons are adorable(Leavanny is my fav). Its always a good day when I see a new episode especially gym battle episodes. I remembered just staying in my room role playing like I actually am having a pokemon battle and it was sm fun.I had very little to no knowledge of pokemon back then so I mostly asked my good friend about it. Ever since then,I researched more pokemon gens,LOVED more pokemon gens and played some games myself.I started when I was 11 and now Im 17. It took me till last year to realize that the truth about BW anime. I heard my friend saying "its garbage","Cilan and Iris were annoying and unbearable","the characters were bland and bad","why mood dragonite". I never felt so broken in my life. I still believe in BW,even if its "bad" cuz Im personally attached and biased to it. Its not just my friend,everybody talked about Dawn, Brock, Paul but no one talks about Bianca,Trip or Iris. They mostly use them as bad examples. I want to disagree,but with my biased category,I have no power to. Id just have to live my life with people saying BW is bad and let my childhood slowly decay while I binge Journeys or SM.I think Ive talked long enough,is it bad that I coincidentally grew up with BW?
