Tropius is a Pokemon that is the defintion of: "Looks way cooler, than it acutally is"In any competitive nature, Tropius has not only been ignored by gamefreak, no Mega Evolution etc.Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby was a kick to the nuts for Tropius fans, with this generation getting pokemon upgrades and mega evolutions, Tropius was untiered in the competitive sense.But from Gen 4 - Gen 8 the powercreep has been so large, and the movepool of pokemon has gotten more diverse; Tropius feels like a forgotten lost child.Not too mention Tropius's Base Stat for what it is, is just a TERRIBLE spread, where it doesn't look like it has a dominance in anything, and thats especially bad for a Pokemon that doesn't evolve.However, thanks to Girafarig and a couple of other Pokemon we'll see later.I think we finally have the chance to see our Dinosaur Banana get its long-waited evolution;and with the only upgrades its gotten between Gen 4 - Gen 8 have been Between Dragon Dance and getting Dragon Hammer (a move that only it and Alolan Exeggutor can learn) and nothing elseIts time GameFreak, Make this Banana a Dragon!!​So here is my Tropius evolution pitch:When Tropius evolves, I have a pretty good name for a new evolution:"Svelbana"Now here me out, because this name is a combination of different wordplays, but the quick origin for the typing:- Obviously, its based off of A Sauropod, a clad of long-necked herbivore dinosaurs- And also a Banana Tree...very simpleI have two more inspirations though:- Tropius is also based off of the Mokele-Mbembe, its a tropical cryptid that lives in the Congo Basin river in central Africa, It resembles a Sauropod and according to some natives, the creature is often described to be a mixture of "an Elephant and a Dragon"So thats one part where the Dragon typing comes in.Another inspiration I found is actually a famous Javanese dish called the Nagasari:- Its a Banana-based dessert, its a traditional javanese steam cake, ingredients are rice flour, coconut milk, and sugar. Its filled with a slice a banana and wrapped in banana leaves.The Word Nagasari Literally translates to " the seed of the dragon" or "the beautiful dragon"Okay so, with that in mind, let me go over the name: Svelbana Stats and its name origins:​SvelbanaIt evolves from TropiusLevel up Tropius with the move Dragon Hammer (so level 46) in order for it evolve.Grass/DragonDerived from:- Svelte: Meaning, having an attractive stylish slender body, which I think a Tropius evolution could look like that with its pretty leaf-wings.- Selva: A Heavily forested ground in the Amazon basin or just a Tropical Rainforest; If we get a Brazil Region, Tropius better get its evolution there!- Savannah: A mixed woodland-grassland ecosystem, a tropical version of Grasslands. It plays off that Tropius is based on a cryptid from Africa and Its actual a play off of Tropius name:The Tropical Savanna as an example are temperate grasslands in Africa, India and South America- Banana: the Fruit associated with the pokemon.one of the NEW Abilities: Vacuolar Sap - Any Direct attacking move causes the pokemon to drain a little more HP from the opponent (liquid ooze has no affect)Base Stats:Tropius:EVs: HP: 99 / ATT: 68 /DEF: 83 /SPATTK: 72 / SDEF: 87 / SPEED: 51: Total: 460Tropius New Evolution: Svelbana:EVs: HP: 109 / ATT: 128 / DEF: 93 / SPATTK: 72 / SDEF: 97 / SPEED: 41 Total: 540So a sharp increase in attack, a slight decrease in speed and overall alright defenses.I'm thinking giving it access to Giga drain and Leech seed would be okay, and a new move; Fruit Grinder, 80 power 100 Accuracy.
