"Iron fist is too weak"
With sharpness, strong jaw, and mega launcher all giving 50% boosts to their respective move types, I struggle to see how iron fist, with its 20% boost, is anything more than a relic from an older gen. Before the newer gens, it wasn't as if iron fist had any stronger compatible moves than mega launcher or strong jaw. Many of the viable "body part moves" basically had BP of around 60- 80 (the elemental punches, aura sphere/dark pulse, crunch and the elemental fangs). The only reasons I could maybe think of is so melmetal isn't too powerful with double iron bash, but that wasn't even introduced until gen vii. Regardless, I don't think that justifies making it a near useless ability for the rest of its natural users. The other reason is how there are priority punch moves. This strikes me as a possibly valid balancing reason.Still, it's very disappointing that iron fist + punch glove only gives the same damage boost as life orb for both an ability AND item. Strong jaw + fish rend stands out as a very strong natural combo, and with skill swap shenanigans you can have some pretty powerful moves with the other abilities. Sharpness population bomb, solar blade, kowtow cleave. I guess Mega launcher is also pretty weak both in terms of available moves and distribution. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/qInaV8v
