"[COMPLAINT] The case against stardust"

#PokemonGO: I understand the idea behind stardust: balance. If everyone has a limited supply, trainers will invest sparingly preventing higher level trainers from completely dominating the game with legions of Level 30 Pokemon. Here's why they're wrong.Knowing that just a handful of Pokemon are more powerful than the rest, very few players invest their precious stardust into "weaker" Pokemon. The result? A game full of Blisssey, Snorlax Dragonites, Gyarados, and Vaporeons. Balance? When's the last time you saw Pikachu defending a gym? Wartortle? Charizard? Anything other than the aforementioned Powermons? Where's the diversity!?Where stardust was meant to invite balance, it has done the exact opposite. I'd power up my 95% Pidgey to be competitive in gyms if I didn't have to save stardust for something "worth" powering up. Of course it wouldn't be as strong, but it'd allow lower level trainers to battle their ways into gyms.I welcome constructive feedback and intelligent opposition. I'm actually curious if stardust has a purpose other than what I've mentioned...? via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2lIqecz
