"Before posting a new theory about drop rates, eggs, spawn rates, etc., ask yourself..."

#PokemonGO: Why would Niantic do that? What possible purpose could it serve? What player behavior would it encourage, and why would Niantic want to encourage that behavior?I really wish everyone would start asking themselves these questions when speculating about game mechanics, ESPECIALLY item/egg drop rates and spawn rates. In some cases, you may have a theory that is easily falsifiable, and it just takes one player's contrary experience to disprove it, which is great. But a lot of the time, people are asking for a whole bunch of data and research to prove or disprove a theory that, while possible, has no understandable game design motivation behind it. I'd rather direct our collective efforts toward theories that make sense in the context of what the developers would logically choose to do first, and leave the more exotic theories until all other possibilities have been eliminated. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2m898or
