"Niantic's brilliant strategy to compensate for the lack of stardust and candy"
#PokemonGO: The weather feature is possibly one of the most amazing changes to the Pokémon GO gameplay since launch! Since I haven't seen this summed up anywhere, I thought it's worth mentioning a few points.Pokémon are now more farmableWith each new generation release Niantic needs to introduce gameplay mechanics to make sure diluted spawns don't lead to all (evolved) species becoming harder to obtain. With the release of Gen II Pinap Berries have been added to the game. The weather feature is a bit more elegant in this regard: thanks to a weather forecast trainers can plan their catching sessions in advance and specifically look for a certain type, making it a lot easier to gather candies for missing species, evolutions or power ups. It's safe to say that Niantic will keep adding variables to make spawns more and more predictable in the future. This also means that they want to reward effort and decrease the amount of RNG elements.Technically we don't even need stardust anymoreSince Pokémon of any level can be found in the wild with good IVs, Stardust will become a less limited resource and more of a luxury raw material for very rare species or Legendaries. In many cases evolving will be enough and further power ups won't be necessary. This will definitely more than compensate for the removal of gym defending stardust and the increased number of Pokémon available to power up.IVs are less relevantGood/bad IVs are the main reason why trainers do or do not level up a Pokémon. With the increased level cap attackers will be perfectly viable for raids even with mediocre IVs as long as the level is high enough.Biomes are less relevantNot everyone around the world has the same weather distribution, but e.g. a rainy day is a blessing for players who don't live near a water biome. However, this also means that in areas with static weather conditions certain Pokémon will be harder to find. But overall it feels like the game will be a tiny bit more equal for everyone.~Also, the map and the backgrounds look really cool now. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2jhaU8n
