"Gen III Regionals (Plusle/Minun, Zangoose/Seviper) | MEGATHREAD | Comprehensive Running List for All Reports - Links - Theories"

#PokemonGO: Tl;dr: Here is the latest updated (as of 5:20 GMT, 09/12/2017) visualization for the map distribution for Minun/Plusle, Zangoose/Seviper: http://ift.tt/2BYTUIB /r/TheSilphRoad I saw literally one post per half an hour for Minun/Plusle, Zangoose/Seviper being regional and asking about this, etc.... I tried compiling all these threads together into a single megathread and I will try update it as best I can, with new info, reports, etc. So let's take things from the beginning fo the Gen 3 release.Regional for Generation III (First seen in Hoenn region)As per reports and sightings, two pokémon pairs (4 alltogether as of yet) are regional spesific. Each pokémon of a spesific pair is seen in the wild in regions that the other is not met.First pair:Plusle (#311, red with Plus symbol)Minun(#312, blue with minus symbol)Second pair:Zangoose (#335)Seviper(#336)Why Regional? / Context / Who each one of the pair is related to the otherPlusle and Minun are known as the Cheering Pokémon, Plusle has the "+"(plus) sign, Minun has the "-"(minus) sign, (direct reference to electromagnetism) and Bulbapedia says "that they seem to be related to each other".As for Zangoose and Seviper, it is "well known" that they are in a feud (rivalry/vendetta), as in life, snakes and mongooses are biological rivals.(Source)Regional destribution in the Global Map - TheoriesIt was quickly proposed that Plusle | Zangoose were only met in western hemisphere and the rest of them in the Eastern Hemisphere, but this theory was easily debunked.Next theory: Two Vertical segments of the globe separted vertically: [-+|-+] Americas = Plusle / Europe = Minun Middle East ~ Western Asia (Israel, Some part of Saudi Arabia [Syria, Libanon maybe?]) = Pusle / (Eastern - Central) Asia - Australia = Minun but this theory doesn't play well with Africa, cause Africa is vericaly downwards of Europe.Another theory said that it kinda matches with a distorted yin yang (as u/DctrBanner said (Not Hulk :_)) ) or distorted diagonal line running from Northwest to Southeast of the globe. It might be the basis of Niantic's plan, but the latest theory is this:Last - Current TheoryThe border in the Atlantic Ocean and the Northern Hemisphere goes downwards from Arctic, cutting trough Greenland (quite eastern of Nuuk) till the Azores (west of them). Then turns from vertically to horizontaly towards the East, and cuts through Morocco (south of Casablanca), Libya, Tunisia, Lebanon (south of Sidon), southern part of Syria (south of Damascus), Iraq, and after Isfahan, Iran it returns to vertical. Downwards to UAE (west of Abu Dhabi and Dubai and east of Doha, Qatar). Cuts through Oman, passes east of Madagascar and west of La Reunion till the Antarctic. On the Pacific the border strats again from the Arctic and runs through the Bering Strait, west of Hawaii, probably east of Apia, Samoa.Western side of Greenland, Americas(Canada, US - Alaska - Hawaii, Mexico, Central and South America), Africa (+Canary Islands, as considered geographicaly close to Africa. Parts of Morocco south of Casablanca. Southern Tunisia) and most parts of the Arabian Peninsula (+Israel as it it close to the peninsula. Western UAE [west of Abu Dhabi] and western Oman) = Plusle & ZangooseEurope(with Portuguese Azores, Malta, Cyprus), tiny part of Africa (North of Casablanca, Tunis.), North Middle East (Most part of Libanon (North of Sidon) and Syria (North of Damascus), Turkey, Northern half Iraq, 3/4 of Iran), small part of eastern Arabian Peninsula(e.g. UAE [Abu Dhabi and east, e.g. Dubai]), Northwest, North, Central, Northeastern, Eastern, Southeastern *Asia** and Oceania (Australia) = Minun & Seviper(Pinky Red: Zangoose & Plusle. Purple: Seviper & Minun. Yellowish and grey, unconfirmed, could be both, could be none) Latest Visualization: http://ift.tt/2BPJxFY visualizations of the above made by me and u/PascalQR: http://ift.tt/2kd5GqA, http://ift.tt/2jeEyv4, http://ift.tt/2B5b5uf, http://ift.tt/2BYTVfD thanks to all of us! There are still some reports to be made for St Layrence Islands and the Pacific on were exactly the line cut, but u/PascalQR made an awesome work and this is the basic map distribution! All threads - LinksTracking down Plusle and Minun (Region Exclusive?)I might have an idea which are regionals are...Where are all the Minun at?Do you expect plusle and minun to be regional monsters?RegionalsPossible relation between Gen 3 regionals and Global Catch Challenge?Potential regional pairs? Plusle/minun zangoose/seviper?Which Pokemon will de considered regional for Gen 3?Canary Islands: are they getting Plusle or Minun? Seviper or Zangoose?Zangoose and Seviper might be regionals too!Seviper and ZangooseZangoose and seviper regional?Plusle and Minun TheoryEdits: Lol, added more threads.
