"What do you think is the worst league loss for Ash?"

Indigo Plateau was shameful to him. I get the fact that he didn't really train much in the first season, but his loss here could have been easily avoided. First of all, Team Rocket basically weakened his Pokemon and he had to rush at the very last minute. And second of all, Charizard decided to slack off at the worst time possible. And not to mention the unnecessary rules the league had. Like, sleep status and recalling counts as "unable to battle." I call bull for that one. I know Ash shouldn't really win his first league, but he should at least lose with a little more dignity. Orange he won, so let's leave that out.The Silver and Ever Grande losses were rather fair. The only problems I had were Charizard having a type advantage against Harrison's Blaziken (although it was able to cause significant damage to the point where Blaziken was weakened in its next match), and the Pikachu vs Meowth battle was probably not that special and memorable of a battle. Other than these reasons, there wasn't really much to be frustrated from. The Lily of the Valley loss was basically just an excuse to keep the status quo. Ash was doing very well here, especially with the intense match against Paul. And then the writers had to add in a trainer with op legendaries, just so he won't win and therefore we can continue his journey to Unova. Honestly, if there was a perfect time to end his role in the anime, DP would have been the perfect time to do so. That match was a very clear indicator that the anime is nothing more than a marketing tool for the games. That aside, the battle itself was pretty well-written. Not only Ash managed to defeat two of his legendaries (something that was never done before throughout the Sinnoh region), but he was determined to not give up, even though he knew that he would lose. Without Tobias, he would have won the entire league. For me, Vertress is by far the worst. They basically downgraded Ash throughout Unova, from being a proficient trainer from Sinnoh into a complete idiot. And to top things off, we have him lose to an even more of an idiot who keeps forgetting his numbers, thus resulting in him only bringing five Pokemon. Actually, Ash technically lost in a 6-on-3, because Cameron set up two type disadvantages against him. The only reason why Lucario won was that it evolved and gained plot armor. If Ash used Snivy's Attract against him (along with a bunch of other mistakes that could have been avoided), he would've had a better chance to win.Lumiose was pretty controversial. On one hand, the animation and music were very well-produced. On the other hand, they basically crushed our hopes and dreams of Ash actually winning for once, especially with all the Ash-Greninja hype and the speculations that would indicate a possible victory (eg. the Japanese titles, and that huge shuriken in the teaser). Technically speaking, I would see why Alain would win, because his Mega Charizard defeated 10 megas in a row, including an Elite 4 trainer. Still, they should have made it a little more obvious on how Charizard was op, because it tanked several moves, some of which are super effective, contrary to Greninja taking only a few hits. That match is comparable to the Super Bowl LIII halftime, where the fans got hyped for something iconic that was about to happen, only to be given disappointment in the end. I'll accept the fact that Alain had two years of development, unlike Tobias who was introduced just before the battle. What would you think is the worst league loss for Ash? via /r/pokemon http://bit.ly/2SnpgUO
