"Am I the only one who feels Niantic neutered type mechanics too much."
#PokemonGO: As I've been going around and fighting gyms I have noticed that type advantage takes a backseat to overall CP in all my lineup choices because Niantic deviated from the normal multipliers. Thanks to the low Super effective multiplier (1.25 instead of 2.0) and the low Not very effective reduction (0.8 instead of 0.5) there is very little incentive to not use your stongest pokemon.I'm not saying that type has no role in choosing a lineup but the difference between having disadvantage and being neutral is too slim. The easiest way to see this is when running a mirror match. I.E. Arcanine ve Arcanine:Going against a mirror match common sense from previous pokemon games tells us that using a nuetral attack is better than using a STAB enhanced disadvantaged attack, but that doesn't hold true in PoGo.PoGo math: 1.25(STAB)*.8(Disadvantage)=1.0Classic math 1.5(STAB)*.5(Disadvantage)=.75Even going up against a strictly bad match up isn't dangerous enough but that is probably a good thing considering how some types are very under powered at the moment (looking at you electric families). A disadvantaged pokemon just needs to have 20% more hp and equal CP to perform as well as a neutral pokemon as long as it has STAB.I could be overreacting here but it feels like these low multipliers limit the amount of counter play available to us. Please feel free to leave feedback on how you feel either way. I'd like to know if I'm off base here or not. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/29Rtn16
