"PSA: Use low CP pokemon to train friendly gyms"

#PokemonGO: I've done a bit of testing with raising prestige of friendly gyms, and it seemed silly that even though my ~1500 Vaporeon was taking out three pokemon it was raising the prestige by less than 500, and so I decided to use some leftovers from a lucky egg evolution spree, notably a Sandslash that came with mud shot. Facing an Arcanine with 1314 CP, my 733 CP Sandslash emerged victorious falling to the next pokemon, this gave me a huge prestige gain of 896!After some more testing I found that the formula to calculate prestige gain when the attacker has lower cp than the defender is P=500*(D/A), capping at 1000 per pokemon. If your pokemon defeats more than one defender the gains are simply added.tl;dr: While training a gym, if the attacking pokemon has a lower cp than the defender the prestige gains are significantly greater. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2arb1Ge
