"Absurd but effective solution for getting a pokemon's level (without violating ToS)"

#PokemonGO: tl;dr: http://ift.tt/2aDJr9l we ignore direct web requests or mitm packet sniffing (for fear of bans and/or end user impracticality,) I think this is a somewhat viable solution for getting a pokemon's level when the IV calculations are ambiguous. Essentially, this is the process:  1. Enter phone size / scaling info and trainer level.  2. Print off an arc that's scaled to match the CP meter in the game, but with marks for each level and half level.  3. Tape it to your phone screen.  4. Profit.  5. er, I mean- turn up your screen brightness and turn down the lights. It's pretty self explanatory if you look at the pics below, but the phone's screen easily projects through the paper and you can gauge how far the CP Meter is filled via the "protractor" overlay. pics: http://ift.tt/2apsqTr code: http://ift.tt/2aDJF00 I stole the arc distance per level calculations from the "IV Rater" on thesilphroad.com- The tool is extremely unfinished. It's only been tested on one phone (my Samsung Note 5) and one printer.- I basically quit once I got a working prototype, so the code is not documented or cleaned up in any way. (If you look at it, please don't judge me haha) other considerations- IF others think this is useful, I see it being linked from the IV Rater page on thesilphroad.com as an "advanced" component for accurately entering pokemon details during the rating process.- You can also just tape the top edge of the printout and it becomes a flap that you can flip up and out of view.- The print out is supposed to line up with the exact left, top, and right edges of the screen. It also draws a reference line for where the top edge of the "details" panel sits on the screen.- Finally, I realize this was (in many ways) a silly waste of my time. BUT, I can't get that time back now, so I might as well share. Edit: formatting is hard. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2aHaJxU
