"I'm the guy who did 1.05m exp in a two day period last weekend. This weekend, I'm going for a million xp in 24 hours, and I won't be alone!"
#PokemonGO: EDIT: Official Event Facebook PageHi all, I recently posted about a week ago with my results after grinding over 1 million exp in a two day period (16hr Sat, 9hr Sunday). SourceThis weekend, from Friday 8pm CT to Saturday 7:59pm CT, I will be joined by some new friends, one /u/motonosity in particular -who will be livestreaming the event from his Twitch Channel. During the stream, we'll be giving 25% of stream donations to charity. /u/motonosity wants to give to a local charity, and I wanted to do a global one, so 12.5% of the donations will go to the clean water fund and the other 12.5% will go to Austin Pets Alive.I personally promise to donate at least $25 to WV even if we don't get any donations! I'm drinking a lot of liquids and it helps just to think about what I take for granted by just going outside to play a video game. Now for the details...We will be walking the same loop at the Austin, TX Capitol building I walked last week, along with hundreds (1000s?) of different Austinites and out-of-towners (I'm looking at you San Antonio!) - lures will be covered for 24 hours straight for all ten pokéstops in the loop. What's our purpose, you might ask? As stated in the old thread, there have been a lot of comments which originally invoked my competitive nature, namely the repeated statements that (2 weeks ago) "being level 32 was mathematically implausible." It didn't end there - even after grinding 1m exp I was told there was no way I walked that far, or even close; that it was an elaborate hoax, that I was covering up for past botting experiences - you name it!After being approached by u/motonosity, we decided that the next step was the verification of being physically there. What better method to prove this than a livestream? It quickly became an opportunity to gather a ton of local PGO'ers to join us in getting as much exp as possible, rain or shine, while making that push further and further. /u/motonosity will be pushing for level 30 (from 24), while I push to level 35 (from 34). I can't say it won't be a massive competition. Please message me if you plan on joining in! I'm so excited for an awesome community event.I then figured, hey, this is a chance for something really awesome. I like to think that passion spawns opportunity. That's when I thought it would be super cool to include a charity.Since we're doing something nobody has really done before, we're expecting to push the human expectations Niantic has set, namely the "2k Pokéstops hit in a 24hr period" and "1k Pokémon Captured in a 24hr period" - both discussed in this thread discussing soft bans. Not that it's our goal - but hey, humans are powerful creatures and if we do indeed reach our goal of 1m exp, we've calculated we'll run past both of these estimations. Hopefully this won't affect our journey.Note: We won't be accepting any donations until the stream starts Friday. If you wish to donate directly to Worldvision, please do so using their website. For transparency, 25% of each stream donation goes directly to charities and the remaining 75% will go to improving the stream and covering setup costs. We'll be doing 1 hour of Q&A before getting going on Friday, starting at 7PM, before getting the show on the road.Note: Strategy! We'll be moving quickly between ten pokéstops, catching nearly every pokémon in between, prioritized by their candy evolution cost (12 > 25 > 50 > none), throwing as quickly as possible maximizing "great" throws. Skillshot bonus EXP was nonexistent when I did my last challenge, and was recently reintroduced, and provides a solid 10-30% XP improvement depending on consistency/luck.Note: Last challenge the weather was in the 100s. This time we have a 60% chance of rain. I'll be using a unique umbrella setup if necessary. Rain or shine, we walk.Last OP Note: Any companies / entities wishing to sponsor us (particularly local), even if it means donating $X per lap we walk to Charity Y, please message me. Would love to get in touch. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2bgSknu
