"It's leak season, and there's some very important things we all need to remember."

During leak season, we're always told to never believe anything until it's officially confirmed. While this is true, there's a lot of other things that people often don't consider.Leakers can get things wrong. Back when Black and White were coming out a leaker told us a large chunk of the dex, and nearly everything he said was true. However, a few pieces of information he said were wrong. One was that there were a 'Pair of Bug/Steel Types, including a Spider and a Bug in knight armour', and another promised an Octopus Pokémon. We did get a Bug/Steel with knight armour, Escavalier, but we didn't get a Bug/Steel Spider. Instead we got a Bug/Steel Ant. We also never got an Octopus, but we did get a Jellyfish with Kraken like tendencies.Reliable sources can have fake info..Still when Black and White was being released, a piece of info arose on Serebii detailing a new Grass Type Owl Pokémon that could be found in the desert. However, with the release of Black and White the info was confirmed fake and took down pretty quickly.'Fake' leaks can be real. Late September/Early October before the accidental full release of X and Y, a picture was released onto the internet of Greninja, which many people, including people on this sub, deemed 'fake', due to 'pixel distortion', the shadow not matching the Pokémon and edited text. A lot of people were convinced it was fake and that it used edited footage of the pre release Torchic announcement as a base. However, when the game was accidentally sold early, it confirmed the existence of Greninja, despite a large majority of the community deeming it fake and dismissing it.Some 'outlandish' things that make a leak sound fake can actually be true. As we've learned with the Chinese leak (Which again, may or may not be real), that some ideas can be very quickly dismissed as fake by the community for being too 'outlandish'. Many deemed the leak fake because 'They would never give old Pokémon new forms of the opposite type', however, Alola forms were quickly confirmed not long after by Nintendo. When it comes to leaks, don't dismiss them straight away, but also don't believe in them 100%, as they can be very fake. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2bErs5J
