"[Anime] Why I think Misty will follow Ash to Hoenn"

Okay, so hear me out – I think there’s a good chance that Misty could follow Ash to Hoenn. I know everyone’s thinking that this new May character is going to replace Misty, but I’ve thought a lot about this lately and I think there’s a lot of evidence that Misty could travel with Ash.Misty is a popular character with a lot of development, way more than any of the other female companions that came before her.Her relationship with Ash was established that they were childhood friends (met way back in Kanto when they were 10).Misty has traveled with Ash for not just one, but three whole regions. She went all over Kanto with him, then to the Orange Islands (outlasting the unpopular Brock) and then again all over Johto. She saw him place in the finals for the Kanto and Johto Leagues, and claim the championship of the Orange Islands. If she can stay with him through that many regions, there’s no reason she wouldn’t continue on the journey with him.Ash was at the top of his game during the Johto League, and Misty was there with him every step of the way. It’s clear that the writers are making him stronger and better, and there’s no reason they’d upset the fanbase by taking away a fan favorite character with just as much development as Ash.Hoenn looks like it has a lot of water, and water pokemon are Misty’s thing. There’s no reason the writers would just send Misty away. She’d have no reason to abandon Ash – her gym is safely in the capable hands of her sisters, and Ash still owes her a bike. It’s not like any other female companion would ever have as much love or be as well-rounded as Misty, so why even bother trying?Kris was never added as a female companion for Ash, which means Misty was clearly designed to span multiple regions. If the writers don’t let Misty go to Hoenn, I’m pretty sure that 99% of their audience will stop watching the anime entirely, and I know that they take those types of threats very seriously. We haven’t fully discovered the mystery of the GS Ball, a plot device that was introduced and hyped all season long. Misty was crucial in snapping Ash out of his depression when he had to give away the GS Ball, and because of her, Ash became a much better trainer after that, going on to win the remaining the Johto badges with renewed vigor. There are 2 new Pikachus in RuSa (because apparently Nintendo is running out of ideas for new pokemon) – one is red and the other is blue. The red Pikachu could go to Ash because he has a red hat, and the blue Pikachu might be part water-type (Pikablu confirmed?) for Misty. It just makes so much sense. So what do you guys think? Do you have any theories about how Misty could follow Ash to Hoenn? via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2c0beiA
