"Do you have any Pokemon that you tend to only use for one niche purpose? I do, but my favorite by far is training my Cloyster to be my Dragonite killer."

#PokemonGO: Does this situation sound familiar? You decide to take down a level 6 GYM with a variety of defenders all hovering a little below or a little above 2000 CP, but you feel confident you will be able to counter most of them, all things considered. Only problem is at the top is a 2,600 CP dragonite who you have no answer for. By the time you take out the first 5 defenders, what you got left is two pokemon you've been using who have half their HP gone, you're toast and you know it. Nothing seems to counter Dragonite so even if your few best fighters still are hanging around, they don't stand a chance. What to do?I tell you the solution my friends, you simply train yourself a Dragonite killer. You have to train this Pokemon so that his only purpose on the planet is to defeat Dragonite. He won't defend gym's, he wouldn't dare waste a roster spot on a gym battle unless Dragonite is waiting for you as the last defender.Who is this nifty creature you ask? For me it is my 87% IV's 12/15/12 Frost Breath/Blizzard moveset Cloyster. Put him against most any other opponent and he'll be average -at best, a very useless Pokemon I thought. That is until I realized he's the perfect Dragonite killer.I can slip this guy in as my 6th and last Pokemon for GYM's led by Dragonite. Ideally I want to have at least one other Pokemon who hasn't fainted yet with roughly half HP when I get dragonite. I quickly switch to Cloyster and start to take care of business. I can take out a Dragonite with double (or more) CP and defeat him one on one with my Cloyster. But honestly it's usally really close. This is why it's important if Dragonite squeaks one out, that you still have that one guy who can come in and get a couple hits in to give your team the victory. It doesn't really even matter the type or who it is, they will just be coming in to nail the KO punch - if needed.See the thing here is that Dragonite is strong defense against pretty much all of the usual best Pokemon you see in the game. The only exception of this is Lapras, he is excellent against Dragonite with pretty much any moveset he has, some better than others. Thing here is that Lapras is one of your main attackers and likely will be needed to defeat other difficult defenders. You can't rely on him just being used for Dragonite because you might need him somewhere else. He's really good.Cloyster on the other hand is junk, other than for what I'm describing. Also keep in mind that you must have Ice move-sets with Cloyster. If you get Water type moves, then I'm sorry you must scrap that loser and try again. Kind of sucks when Shelder is as rare as he is.Before I go, there are other's who you can train into Dragonite killers too if you get the proper moveset. I lucked out on a 93% IV's Seadra with Dragon Breath / Blizzard moveset who is another solid choice. Maybe a slight step down from Cloyster, but still an excellent choice if this is what you got. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2cM9P2n
