"How about we try to make The Silph Road FAQ? I'll start."

#PokemonGO: Seeing lots of repeated submissions I thought it would be nice to have a little roundup of what we know so far. Please join me in clarifying common misconceptions so maybe the new submission queue will get less cluttered making it easier for valuable post to make the front page. Whenever it's posible I'll try to cite the source - it would be great if you guys did this as well.Hatching eggs - people are mostly asking about 10km eggs and their drop rate. What we know is that they are pretty rare, with an exact chance oscillating around 5 or 7%, so if you have trouble getting them - that's just how it is. Also no conclusive evidence has been found supporting any theory on how to increase the drop rate (clearing your egg inventory, walking more, using remote and rarely used pokestops). [source]Are spawns affected by weather? - No they are not, no statistical evidence has been found. [source]Is there any way to predict or influence the movesets? - No, there isn't. [source needed]Catching pokemon - Does the size of the colored circle influence the capture rate? Does Scoring a "Nice", "Great" or "Excellent" influence the capture rate? The answer to the first question is yes - a smaller radius has a significant effect on your capture chance. The smaller your radius, the bigger your capture chance. The answer to the second question is no - You don’t need to get a “Nice”, “Great” or “Excellent” to get the increased capture chance. [source]Will I get rarer pokemon using incence with an empty tracker? - The spawns from a lure or incense seem to be affected only by the surrounding biome with a slight chance to get something rare. So if you will use an incence or a lure in a biome that is uncommon for you, you have a higher chance of getting pokemon that you are less likely to get otherwise. Also if you will use an incense inthe middle of nowhere, where NOTHING spawns you have a chance of a "better" result. [source] [source 2] [source 3]Why do some pokestops give you extra xp and more items? - You will get 6+ items and 100 XP from every 10th Pokéstop as long as you keep spinning a chain of different stops. Also the 10th stop does not guarantee an egg. [source] [source 2]Egg hatching speed - those seem to change between the updates but the 10,5km might be your best safe bet to record the most of your distance. The theory is that server gets pinged every minute while the visual update happens every 4 minute. This might be the most vague of all the theories so take it with a pinch of salt. Also I would appreciate if any fellow traveler would like to correct me or clarify the matter. [source]Buddy - the only easter egg seems to be the Pikachu on your shoulder one. Also buddy sometimes randomly finds 2 candies. Other than that expect not much else. [source]Should I power up my (insert name and stats here)? - those post do not really belong in TSR, they are more fit for r/PokemonGoIVs. In general it's a good idea to follow this guide on powering up.Your question/answer goes here. Use the comments to ask what you wanted to find out or let other travelers know what you have found out. As you can see the list is far from being complete.A bonus:A colection of useful links and tools. My personal favourite pro-tip: How to play hands free and misclick free on Android. An important PSA: A power-up can be used as a revive. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2cofurG
