"Now I have a lot more sympathy for Niantic."

#PokemonGO: Imagine having to contend with the userbase that comes with half a billion downloads, while also prepping a different version of your app for an unannounced major Apple hardware revision, which you will then demo in the middle of a friggin' Keynote, which will also be attended by fucking Shigeru Miyamoto.Only the Marianas Trench has more pressure.EDIT: the small size of Niantic's team has already been mentioned in this subreddit. You're crazy if you think the company was sufficiently staffed to handle a userbase of this magnitude.ANOTHER EDIT: to try and save myself the agony of repeating my response ad infinitum: no, "they should hire more devs" is neither a legitimate criticism nor a miracle cure for the current state of Pokemon GO. I can guarantee you that they have hired on a lot more people, but, as I myself and a few other people in the thread have noted, new hires will not have a significant impact on feature completion for at least a couple months after being hired. This is because they have to be fully onboarded, trained, and integrated into the dev team. Development takes time. Developers are people. Niantic is small, but basically won the lottery and has to learn how to grow up and be responsible in front of the entire world. Cut 'em some slack. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2cpx2q3
