"PSA: Timing your charge attacks properly can be the difference between victory/defeat."
#PokemonGO: (I'm sure many of you've figured this out already, but haven't seen it posted. Anyway, this advice would have helped me earlier.)You're probably aware that energy bars (of both attacking and defending Pokemon) get partially filled due to damage taken/HP loss during the fight. You can use this to your advantage.Yesterday I was fighting an ~1850 Exeggutor (ZH/SB) using a ~1540 Venomoth with Bug Bite and Bug Buzz. I found that I could get off exactly two Bug Buzzes before the battle ended. However, if I started the first one shortly after the first bar charged and the second one right after the first bar recharged, the resulting damage allowed the Exeggutor's solar beam to charge, which he then used to kill Venomoth a couple of Bug Bites too early. (FWIW, given some randomness I actually won a few times doing this, but lost several others.)So, as a result, in future battles I waited until both bars had charged, then used Bug Buzz once, absorbed one more hit from Exeggutor and used Bug Buzz again. After this, one more bite took out the Exeggutor without him ever using solar beam -- 100% success with this method.Accordingly, advice to follow for one-on-one training fights (that is, this assumes you're not intending on fighting the gym's second Pokemon, too) involving charge bars -- figure out how many charge attacks you will be able to get off during the fight, and time them so that the last charge will either just finish off the defender, or get him within a hit or two of dying. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2cxg0Uq
