"TIL: Poliwrath with mudshot is really strong in this "Water Pokemon" meta."
#PokemonGO: "Poliwrath with mudshot is really strong in this "Water Pokemon" meta."Why?Poliwrath is resistant to water type attacks, so he takes little damage.Mudshot does normal amounts of damage with a quick animation. Making it easy to dodge attacks while getting in a lot of hits.Poliwrath is a natrually defensive Pokemon with his highet stat in defense. Making him tankier yet faster than other water types.Example: I have a 1520 Poliwrath and decided to use it to take down a gym with a 2200 Vaporeon. Because Poliwrath is resistant to water type moves he doesn't take damage. Also since mudshot is normally effective versus water type pokemon, Poliwrath turns out to be amazing at taking down gyms with water pokemon at the top (Slowbro, Lapras, Vaporeon). PoliWrath is also great at taking down NidoKings and NidoQueens due to the ground advantage over poison.Note: I found this out today and thought that I would share it with people! Poliwrath is such a great pokemon in this meta with such a cool attack animation. I hope this was helpful to some people!Edit: I didn't think this post would get so much attention! People have brought up great points saying how Vaporeon is overall better than Poliwrath, but I never said that Poliwrath is better. I was trying to make a point on how Poliwrath is such a strong pokemon and it is overshadowed by Pokemon like Vaporeon. Now take into account that Vaporeon is one of the best water pokemon in the game currently. That being said, if you are comparing Poliwrath to Vaporeon you have to take into account that if Poliwrath even matches up to Vaporeon's strength then people should invest into pokemon like Poliwrath. /u/KagamiJunichirou has made a great point arguing against me! You can't have a good discussion without a counter argument.TLDR I'm not arguing that Poliwrath is better than Vaporeon, but that he is a pick that matches up to it. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2cawtjW
