"[Unconfirmed Hypothesis] I believe that Niantic has now incorporated new cell data gleaned since the launch of Pokemon Go into spawn rates"
#PokemonGO: I, as well as many other players, have seen increased spawn rates around popular areas where players of Pokemon Go tend to congregate (all of the local colleges near me have increased spawn rates since the update, for example). Also seeing a lot of players saying new spawn points have appeared very near their houses. My guess is that Niantic is finally trying to address the rural player problem by incorporating cell data that they've gathered on Pokemon Go players since the game launched. As many players suggested at launch, this would be the most effective way to make sure all players who have downloaded and played Pokemon Go have access to at least some spawns, and surely that occurred to Niantic as well.**EDIT: So far it seems like this is unconfirmed. People are reporting disappearing spawns as well, so it's possible (perhaps likely) that this is just random. It's also possible that Niantic only increased the spawn rates in places where multiple phones are often detected playing PoGo, which would increase the social aspect of the game now that the initial rush of casual players are disappearing.I have no way of confirming this for rural players, however, as I live in a city and don't know which areas were traditionally dry for Pokemon. Anyone rural that can confirm greater spawn rates (especially around your house?) via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2d0VKO7
