"Wait a minute...Sun and Moon just showed even more ties to alchemy."

So we've already been considering alchemy as an overarching theme for a while now. Solgaleo and Lunala seem to be more closely related to it than to the actual sun and moon. Some people are speculating the starters and Rockruff might tie into it as well--more on that shortly. But now we have a most-definitely-not-secretly-evil organization called the Aether Foundation, the very unnatural looking chimera that is Type: Null, and a strange "Ultra Beast" that seems to not be of this world. So how about we back up for a second and lead up to this? You see, alchemy leaned heavily on the Classical elements as described by the Greeks: fire, water, earth, and air.Now look at Alola's starters. Litten and Popplio cover fire and water; that's a given. But isn't it strange how Rowlet is the second starter ever to be dual typed in its base form? What if that Flying type is there from the beginning so that Rowlet can represent the element of air?But that leaves out earth, right? Or does it? Has everyone noticed how much attention Rockruff has been getting? How it has some kind of mysterious secret on par with the starters that they've been teasing since its reveal in June? Wouldn't it make sense if the reason the Rockruff line keeps being put on equal footing with the starters is so it can represent the element of earth?"But wait," you might be wondering, "What does the Aether Foundation have to do with any of this?" You see, everyone knows about the four Classical elements...but there's actually a fifth that shows up less often, said to be the essence of the heavens and the gods. What element would that be? Aether. It's official, ladies and gentlemen. This is no crackpot theory any more. Pokémon Sun and Moon has an overarching theme of alchemy. The question now...is where they're going to go with it next. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2c8O6B0
