"An overlooked reason for gym stagnation: placing attackers to defend gyms"

#PokemonGO: Hello trainers,I recently realized a big factor explaining gym stagnation is never mentioned when people discuss this topic: since it's better to place highest CP defenders possible rather than the actual best defenders in terms of battling ability, players end up placing their best attackers in gyms because it's the highest CP they have, leaving them with a much weaker force to potentially take down enemy lvl 10 gyms.Since there is no incentive to killing high level enemy gyms, it makes more sense to use high CP top-tier attackers as defenders, and at the end of the day it hurts players'ability to take down those enemy gyms.I'm talking from personal experience here, I slowly placed my best defenders in lvl 10 gyms but eventually had to use my attackers to not be at the bottom of the new gyms I was placing pokemon in, and now even I if wanted to take down a lvl 10 gym I won't go for it because it's not nearly as easy for me to do without my best attackers.Anyone else doing the same? I really think it plays a role in the stagnation gyms are experienceing right now via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2eaWp3o
