"RATICATE is a Top Tier gym prestiger"

#PokemonGO: So Raticate has an amazing niche for attacking friendly gyms to gain prestige. I know a lot of people know this already but I'm sure some people aren't aware yet, so let's bring them up to speed;He has terrible CP scaling. This sounds bad but it's perfect for a friendly gym attacker. This allows you to get unfavorable match ups where Raticate is a 2 to 1 underdog which nets 1,000 prestige. As we've seen with bubble strat , etc. The benefit here is that it doesn't rely on having a low CP Pokemon like bubblestrat requires to prestige up a gym. It's not as fast either, of corse, but it's great if you're working alone and would like to get into a high level gym of your same team.He has the potential for an amazing moveset. This is the other key to his success. Raticate with Bite + Hyper Beam puts out so much damage, even despite his low stats. His attack stat itself is nothing special but being able to get Bite and Hyper Beam allows him to put out a ton of damage and destroy Pokemon even 2x his CP.So the optimal moveset for this is BITE + HYPER BEAM ( BITE DPS 12 which is still higher then QUICK ATTACK w/ STAB at 9.4 DPS and also has a much lower cooldown. HYPER BEAM also gets STAB ).Even with his great movesets , remember, his stats are very low. This requires you to be on point with your dodges.Be careful with his fragile defense and HP. Even if you dodge attacks you will take a lot of damage due to his fragility. So be sure you're getting in every single attack you can between dodges and be very careful you don't fire a Hyper Beam while the opponent has a charge attack available. If you think you can get away with it save Hyper Beam for the very final blow to finish off the opponents HP.Raticate SOFT COUNTERS Exeggutor. Exeggutor is a top tier defender and very commonly used. However, Raticate soft counters him due to Bite being super effective. Since a lot of gyms have Snorlax / Dragonite which CP scales even higher than Exeggutor, it's not uncommon for Exeggutor to be a bottom defender. This allows you to use Raticate to prestige up on said Exeggutor with ease to get yourself a space in that gym.Luckily for us his low HP means we don't need to use top tier potions to heal him! Usually a few Potions or a Super Potion + 1 regular Potion is good enough to send him into battle again with full HP !That's really all there is to it.
