"Reminder to not over-value IVs. Plus, when to value them."

#PokemonGO: For those who have a full comprehension of IVs, this probably isn't new to you, and I'm not jumping into the analytics of it, but it's also to remind you to not get too caught up in the IVs. However, to those who have an understanding of them but are still confused, I'm going to try to explain this as simple and smoothly as possible.• IVs are not as important as they seem. Higher IVs, essentially, just means it can max out at a higher CP.• Pre-evolution: value CP and IV.• Post-evolution: value move-set.• Powering-up (always evolve, then power up): If you just want to only max it out, then value IV. Otherwise, if you're going to use it for gyms, value move-set.Also, move-sets are extremely random when you enter a Pokemon's evolution. All of this information is very beneficial to understand if you're all about gyms because you can have a really high IV Pokemon with a high CP but if it has an absolutely terrible move-set (after it's been fully evolved), then it renders it completely useless for attacking or defending gyms, and leaves it no real point in powering up either.Hope this helps and that I put it simply enough to put an end to anyone's confusion on when they should prioritize IVs. It's also a rather subjective and situational decision, depending on what your goal is with that specific Pokemon. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2dGsHhr
