"I sacrificed a gym and battled for almost an hour to reveal my PoGo 'nemesis'."

#PokemonGO: This happened a few weeks ago but I thought it would be good to share. There are 4 gyms within reasonable walking distance from my house, and I do my best to hold them down for my team every day. However, there is one specific person who must live close to me that seems to knock them down that same day, if not within a couple hours, and the cycle continues. Sometimes I feel like he only decides to go take down a gym if I'm in it since there have been days where he will leave every gym alone except mine. It became a joke between my boyfriend and I whenever I would see this guy in a gym or I would notice one of my pokemon needed reviving (I would assume he was the one who defeated the gym) because I would give a stern look and angrily say his username, jokingly of course. Anyways, one day I walked to one of the closer gyms and began leveling it up since it already belonged to my team and I wanted to drop in one of my mons. I finally got it up to level 6 to put one in and decided since I had time and a decent amount of revives/potions that I'd level it up as much as I could for my other team mates. As I was standing there next to a Chinese food place someone pulled in the parking lot but just sat there. I initially thought it was probably someone there to pick up their order, but then a few minutes of them just sitting went by and I noticed my prestige went down a bit. In that moment I knew. I didn't budge. I stood my ground and continued gaining prestige for my gym at ~1000 prestige while he would bring it down around 500. This went on for a full 40 minutes until he finally drove off. I needed to know who this mystery man was, so I decided I had to wait and find out. I started walking a little, making sure to stay at a distance where I could still see if the gym was being attacked because I knew he'd be back. Lo and behold about 5 minutes go by and the attack animation started up. I looked over at the chinese restaurant and it was the same guy. I watched the levels go down one by one, and he took down the gym pretty quickly since a lot of the mons weren't very strong. Finally, the moment I had been waiting for came. The gym was grayed out and I waited in anticipation to see who this masked man was. The new team color appeared as the gym built back up, and I clicked as fast as I could. IT WAS HIM. For once, him taking down one of my gyms made me smile since I finally unveiled his identity. I ran over to the chinese restaurant and we locked eyes as he was pulling out. We both knew who each other was and I'd like to think that the past hour was meaningful. I ran back to the gym closest to my house that he had just taken down to even out the playing field.
