#PokemonGO: http://ift.tt/2ftJDso to rename my Porygon to でんのうせんしポリゴン, which was the name of the banned episode Porygon appeared in. でんのうせんしポリゴン gets the "Please enter a different nickname" thing each time. でんのうせんし works, as does ポリゴン. But not both parts together as the whole thing. That piece of text comes up as 11 characters, and the character limit seems to be 12, so that shouldn't be triggering the rename block. Anyone know if they blocked that specific chunk of text?Has anyone experienced any other names they weren't allowed to use? I have this problem too, but with HTML code I was trying to enter. It seems Niantic have blocked certain phrases for being Pokémon names. For example, I renamed my Bulbasaur [b]Name[/b] (imagine the [ is < as this comment will not allow HTML code that doesn't end) but up came the message. For me I can no longer enter HTML into Pokémon names, which is a shame. Any name I put in with [/b] is denied. You're right, it is strange as the only person who can see the name is yourself. I wonder why they would ban the phrase of a TV show?
ReplyDeleteI'm having this problem too but I just nicknamed 47 Pokemon using 56, 87, etc and now I'm coming up with the error. I tried using a word or renaming it the Pokemon name and I'm still getting the error.
ReplyDeletei'm having the same problem as llamma burman. just renamed some pokemon, then all of a sudden it won't accept any nicknames, and if I try changing one I have already nicknamed back to its original name it won't accept it either. just keeps saying please enter a different nickname
ReplyDeletei have the same problem. just trying to add the IV to the end of the name of my mons and no go - "please enter a different nickname" ! what gives?!?
ReplyDeleteAlso having this issue today. I left the app for a few hours and it worked again for some pokemon and then stopped again.
