"Egg Incubator Strategy Guide"

#PokemonGO: Dear fellow travelers. I am posting this short guide to help make aware and help those who do not/wont/cant duel equip there credit cards for incubators. In this guide i will be going over proper incubator management and common mistakes players make in a simple to read 1.2.3...layout. So with out further ado. (i Will be using the term LIMITED to describe 1 and 3 use incubators and UNLIMITED to describe the Infinite Incubator.)Compact Form:-1./4. 2km eggs always go into the unlimited incubator. 10km eggs always go into limited (1-use or 3-use) incubators.-2. Distance is tracked during animations or any other game activity, so keep walking.-3. Zigzag = bad. Straight line = good.(Contributed by "Zyxwgh".)-5. Use Limited Incubators with the most uses first.-6. 4:10 is the time between distance updates.ELABORATION;The simplest most commonly known. Do not use Limited incubators to walk your 2k eggs. It is terribly cost inefficient to do and will net you less worth doing so.When catching, evolving, viewing the hatch animation or otherwise playing the game keep walking as the game will still track distance walked even while these things are happening.Walk in as strait a line as possible as the game will track distance walked from the last point it added it up to the next time it adds it. (ZIGZAGS = bad)This one is an advanced version of (1.). I will try to keep it as simple as possible. So lets say you have 2x 10k and 4x 5k eggs and 1 Limited (3 use) incubator with your unlimited incubator. What do you think is the best way to use the incubators to hatch the eggs. You do as follows, put one 10k in the limited and start walking 5k's with the unlimited. By the time you have walked 10km you will have hatched 2x 5k's for a total of 20km and 3 pokemon effective effort worked. Repeat this and you will have walked all the eggs for a total of 40km effort and 6 pokemon hatched and have one use on the limited remaining. Now if you were to do this the inefficient way and put both 10k's in incubators at the same time by the time you have walked 10km you will have done 20km and 2 pokemon worth of effort. If you were to continue this for all the eggs you will end up with 20km worth of effort 6 pokemon hatched and no uses left on your limited. On top of this you will have less egg turnover from pokestops as the effort to free up space is increased. Simply put do not use your unlimited to hatch 10k's and only put them in Limited's in order to increase your gain from the event. If you have more than one incubator to choose for only one egg, use the incubator with the most uses left. This allows for more efficient parallel incubator use when you get more eggs. Suppose you had two incubators, one with 3 uses left and one with 1 use left. You receive a 5k egg. You have the choice of which incubator to use. (I believe this tip should only apply to 5k eggs actually.) If you put it in the 1-use incubator, then subsequently receive a 10k egg, the 10k egg would have to go in the 3-use. After you finish the 5k you now have two incubator "uses" sitting idle waiting for the 10k to finish. If you receive another egg during that time, you just have to wait. Or buy incubators of course :D But if you had put the 5k in the 3-use, then when the 10k comes along it will only tie up the single-use. The other 2 uses come available for new eggs 5k sooner. (contributed by "bobbyeubanks" and reiterated by "TagSoup".)The time (4:10) is the time between distance updates. Walking straight until an update and then change direction if you want to maximize distance and get places. You can use a lucky egg or incense timer to nail down the exact moment an update happens and then refer to 4:10 from the last update for pinpoint accuracy on when to change directions (like say grinding patterns where you walk 4:10 in one direction, then about face and walk 4:10 back the way you came. Rinse, repeat. (Contributed by "TehMephs".)Any comments or additions are welcome and i wish you all a merry xmas and happy hatching. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2irsRLc
