"[Idea] It'd be great if there was some sort of mini-game you can play without "going" anywhere, even if it was limited."

#PokemonGO: Bad weather, broken leg, curfew, etc.. There are plenty of reasons why you might not be able to get out there. Does Niantic really want you to not play your game at home? A daily puzzle or mini-game would be awesome, just for small bonuses (stardust, candy, XP, items, etc.). Maybe daily streaks could come into play here too, with puzzles getting harder and bonuses growing each consecutive day. Here's what I had in mind:Business: Of course Niantic wants people outside playing the game, walking around while merging reality with virtual entertainment, but that's not always possible. If you're unable to get out, Niantic would still want you to play their game, but they would also want to stay true to the "Go" aspect. To do this, they should limit the mini-games (at least the reward-based ones) to a set # of games/day or a set time limit. This prevents people from ONLY playing these stationary games while also keeping players interested in the game when walking isn't an option - and above all: it keeps Niantic active in your household $$$Physically unable to walk around outside: Things happen. Terrible weather, physical injury, doctor's office waiting room, low battery and you need to be plugged in, etc. These players shouldn't be cut off from the game completely if they want to play! Mini-games allow others to maintain an active role in the game, as well as keeping their interest for when they are able to get out and play the main walk-around aspect of the game again.Rural players: Many people simply can't just walk around and play the game as much as others. When you only have 2 pokestops near you, both greater than half a mile away in either direction, it's hard to maintain a cache of balls, revives, or potions without spending money, and not everyone wants to go camp at a pokestop so they can spin it every 5 min hoping for 3 or more pokeballs.. Mini-games with item rewards would allow these players to acquire the items necessary to participate in the walk-around aspect of the game (you know, actually catching some pokemon) within in the .5 mile radius around their home without completely distinguishing their items. Nothing worse than wanting to play and not having any items to actually play with.Skill training: This applies to everyone, but even more to rural players that don't have as easy access to items, so "every one counts". Wooden Pokeball throw practice, battle practice, etc. Those help players that can't experience the game at such a fast rate as urban players do. Players will be able to familiarize themselves with their pokemon moves, curve balls, timing, dodging, and everything else that helps people grow and succeed in their gameplay. While you can all play plenty of pokemon stand-alone games, Pokemon Go doesn't have to lose it's essential essence by adding training/mini-games. In fact, it would increase interest in players who's interest has already begun to wan due to the above reasons. It would do nothing but benefit both the user and Niantic.Happy Catching, everyone! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2hzckYz
