"My experience with the gym game as an Instinct player"

#PokemonGO: I usually don't see many posts or comments from Instinct players on this sub that points towards them having a good/easy time with the gym game. I am having a blast with my friends who I've met playing this game, and I thought a wanted to share a story with your all.I am a level 31 Instinct player currently sitting on 9 gyms. I have collected from 10 gyms every day (when I'm at 9 I just go to a gym nearby and take it down) over the last two months. But how? Do I have a secret? ... Kind of. Or at least I can explain the way that I am playing this game currently.I am spending 30 minutes to two hours every day on Pokemon Go. I am living in a city of 150.000 people with around 50 gyms in it (give or take). My original approach was taking down 2 - 3 gyms a day solo and collecting - that was it. After some time doing that I recognized other Instinct players doing so. After the run one day we sat down at a tripple lure spot and chatted. It was funny getting to know other players, since the friend I originally played with had quit. That was when we got the idea: Work together! From that day we got a small group of 6 - 8 people but it grew to the now 16. We have 6 gyms focused in the city. Whenever it's even hit at we go to it and power it up again. We have students, 9-5 workers and night shift workers so someone will usually be able to be there withing short time. We are all level 31+ and one guy is even half way to level 40. This has led to many players avoiding our gyms because of the trouble in taking down a level 10 gym and us having a reliable income. When we build up the gyms that are actually taken down quite a bit we either do it alone or in a group of whoever is able to. No matter if we are on a solo run or in a group we always leave room for other players if we are able to. If we are seven players we usually build it all the way to level 10 so other Instinct players will be lured to being active gym battlers.6 gyms? Cool, but what about the rest? - ROAD TRIP!We have up to 10 gyms spread around the countryside and we visit them every 3 weeks or so or when enough have fallen. This makes us a steady income and is a great way for us to interact and get to know each other.But... Do you never take down other gyms than the same 6 + 10 gyms? YES WE DO!We have a "kill list". A short list of spoofers, people who are negative towards others on our local Facebook page and people who constantly take down our gyms. We don't go full ham throughout the city unless it's a spoofer though.Pokemon GO has been and still is an outright pleasure. Some things to take from this:Work togetherBe social when playing the game if possibleBe open towards other playersTry holding a few gyms instead of going all outPrestige further than your own place in the gyms via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2hxHSPF
