"(Theory) Best Gym Defence is a Same Type Defense"

#PokemonGO: Looking for opinions and experience from other players. In my experience, with the current glass-house nature of gyms, the best defense of a gym seems to be using like-type Pokémon. I currently would rather go up against a gym with a few of each of the very top defenders (Dragonite, vaporeon, Rhydon, snorlax, Lapras) then a gym stocked full of one type. I ran up against a gym full of all water defenders (2 Poliwrath, a Slowbro and 7 Vapes) and I ran out of grass mons and ended up having to grind through with one dragonite and a few snorelax. Seemed like it took much longer to take down then normal. I could easily see a full-water or a full-dragonite gym take two or three battles before getting the full takedown bonus, making it take much longer to topple the gym. Anyone else feel the same? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2gcQXuX
