"Happy Half-Year Anniversary to the Pokémon GO Launch! - Thank you Niantic"
#PokemonGO: I can't believe how fast this half-year went by, it's already Winter now (over here at least)... I still remember it, half a year ago when I saw Pokémon GO trending on Twitter I just knew I had to get this game.To my shock I thought the game's graphics were horrible but I was quickly captivated by the idea of catching these wild Pokémon in real life. Just how I dreamed of doing that as a little boy who had a fridge with a copy of Pokémon Blue which I obtained after begging my parents for months on end. The Gameboy Fridge was powerful and I remember it being quite a challenge to extend my gametime as much as possible when the Gameboy showed a bright red light, indicating that I had to save ASAP because it would run out of juice soon, Yet still playing until the Gameboy turned off and being bummed out about the 1 minute I lost because I didn't save every second but every minute instead. (Note: I'm 27 now)From the mighty 3-Step Tracker, Servers Crashing & Minor Text Fixes to Buddies, Daily Rewards & First Wave of Gen 2. It's been quite a ride. I'm excited for the next half a year and to see what course Niantic is headed with Pokémon GO. Although we do complain a lot about how the game needs stuff done and how incomplete Pokémon GO is I feel that my experience is far from incomplete and I still enjoy this game on a daily basis. I'm grateful for Pokémon GO, it has changed my life, for me and the people around me.Even now to this day I've met friends I never thought I would meet, saw lives changed from people getting back up their feet from an awful depression, Seen couples bonding stronger than ever because they been a part of this adventure together, to me personally being "tanned" more than I've ever been in the past 5 years combined and actually losing weight as a result of just walking and catching Pokémon. I think it's fantastic how to see how Pokémon GO has affected so many lives in a positive way that I can't help but being excited for the future of this game.I'm eagerly waiting for the nice weather to come back so I can spend my days outside again non-stop, hopefully with Gen 2 fully released so I can go back to the days where I was hunting for exciting Pokémon to catch. Where I can sort of relive going through Pokémon Silver (In-Real Life) which I obtained a couple of years after I obtained my copy of Blue... It's going to be interesting to make AR photo's again of Chandeliers and Icecream cones with eyes on them by the time Generation 4 arrives which will be in 2018/2019 I imagine... via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2jb2VDQ
