#PokemonGO: If you weren't aware, the sprites and models for Pokemon are stored on the Niantic servers. The gender update involves two parts, the client side update and the server side update. While most of us can get the APK, not all of Niantic's servers have been updated with the new sprites and models.The current "base" models are male for Pikachu and female for Raichu. If all of your Pikachu are the same gender and all your Raichu are the same gender, you are most likely not connected to a server that has been updated with the latest sprites yet. In these cases, the sprites you see are not an accurate representation of the gender of your Pokemon. I currently have 40 "male" Pikachu and 4 "female" Raichu. Once the server side update hits me, I can expect some female Pikachu and possibly male Raichu.From my experience it can take 24 hours for server side updates to roll out globally.
