"Encouraging Exploration"

#PokemonGO: Bit of Ingress background. To level up after 8 you have to have enough experience AND have a certain number of silver,gold,plat medals for each level. One of these was UNIQUE portals accessed. This really encouraged exploration and I spent hours traversing the city and state to increase this number.Pokemon Go only counts how many stops you spin. I'd love to see something like unique stops spun. Most of the time I play with friends we walk the same rough path that goes past several nests and has a lot of spawns all the way along it. There is no real incentive to travel to other locations much.I'd love to see a medal that encourages this or some other action to explore lesser known areas. I found so many areas in my city playing Ingress and it would be great if PoGo did the same.Thoughts or other ideas to encourage exploration? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2kT09bn
