"Valentines event - Snorlax Prestige goldmine"

#PokemonGO: With the Valentines week event flooding us in pink Pokes this week I want to remind people about one of the best parts of the event; the extra spawns of Jigglypuffs and Slowpokes are giving us the best chance yet to build a prestige army versus Snorlax.With the half distance walking candy at least half of the Go community with be walking their Snorlax this week, and to be honest they were already pretty prevalent as high level gym defenders. Most everyone knows that Wigglytuff is the prestige king, especially so against a Lick Snorlax since his attacks will be not very effective (NVE). For Quick move Pound is essential and for charges both Play Rough and Hyperbeam work great here depending on your playstyle for dodging or pumping out max damage. Against a Zen Headbutt Snorlax anything that is part psychic greatly helps and a Watergun Psychic Slowbro is perhaps best at this role.Generally for prestigers the 1200 to 1300 band has been the sweetspot to aim for. For the sake of this post I’d actually recommend aiming more for the 1300 to 1400 section, especially against Zen Snorlaxes. I’d recommend this since most scenarios where you’d actually want to prestige through a Snorlax involve a band of similar defenders after, usually 2 or 3 Gyarados from my experience. Since these are typically 2800+ CP you still should earn 1k prestige a round.While making attacks NVE helps tremendously Snorlax is still a tank and will dish out damage to half CP opponents. As a guideline a roughly 450 Jigglypuff will become a roughly 1300 Wigglytuff while a 675 Slowpoke will become roughly a 1400 Slowbro. These are guidelines and are affected by Poke level and IVs so double check before evolving if you want to his a specific band.For bonus tips Pidgeots with the Wing Attack and Hurricane moveset are also very good against Lick based Snorlax due to NVE typing in his favor. Wigglytuff also performs rather well against Gyarados due to resisting Bite and the possible Dragon Pulse Charge move. And finally Exeggutors with Solar Beam makes great attackers versus Zen Headbutt Snorlax thanks to their psychic typing.And most importantly enjoy the event, it’s a fun one! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2l173dU
