#PokemonGO: Last night I saw a long standing level 10 gym 3 blocks from my house get attacked. After about a month of gym creep my Vaporeon was the bottom of the stack and the first booted. The attacker stopped, and within a minute the gym was being trained up at around 150 prestige per battle.I had time to walk over and snipe the spot that opened before the person shaving the gym could place a Pokemon. I put a 2700 blissey in the 9th spot. Even after I took the open spot the prestige battle kept going. I took a minute to look for the person that was trying to get in the gym and saw him sitting in a car. I watched as he finished his battle and the look of utter disappointment when he saw the spot was filled.I walked past his car waved at him with my phone showing my spot in the gym. He rolled down his window and accused me of taking "his spot". I informed him that multi accounting is against the terms of service and that he booted me to make a spot. He was upset and asked "how else are you supposed get into a high level gym" as it takes hours to train 8,000 prestige and open a spot.I had to explain prestige to him and let him know that you get more prestige if you train with all 6 Pokemon at a lower CP than the defender. He begrudgingly thanked me, I walked away, and the gym was lowered by 1,000 prestige as he started the process of shaving himself another spot. Except now, he had to fight my blissey to open a spot in the gym. I felt good that he failed to gain any prestige a couple of times before winning and opening himself a spot.This guy was a level 33 player that I see in dozens of high level gyms around town. And the fact that he didn't know how to efficiently prestige means he probably stole spots in all of those gyms. I'm pretty sure he's going to continue multi accounting and shaving gyms, only now he knows how to be more effective in doing it. I can't help but think that if someone had taught him how to prestige efficiently a few months ago he could have been a huge asset to the team.In the end, I'm back where I started at the bottom of this level 10 gym, only this time it's with a Blissey instead of a Vaporeon. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2muocx4
