"Almost Gave Up on Pokemon GO Today, Forever"

#PokemonGO: Today I encountered my greatest eternal fear in gaming, enough that I was ready to walk away from Pokemon forever. After booting up the app I was prompted to sign in to my account from scratch. I didn't really think anything of it, so I entered my email and password like normal, only this time I was greeted with Professor Willow welcoming me to the world of Pokemon. I thought it might be a perk of a new update or something that I just hadn't heard about but when I was asked to select my character I literally froze in terror, thinking maybe a massive glitch had occurred and my character, whom I've been pouring hours and hours of effort into since day one of launch, had been erased from cloud eternity.I closed the app, uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried to log in again ... same thing. I frantically checked online to see if some crazy bug had affected players and there was a simple solution that I just needed to follow, but I found nothing. By now I was thinking that it would never be the same, even if I were to start from scratch and take everything I had learned from my first character and apply to some strange new identity, my spirit had died with my beloved character. I felt the darkness overcome as all the joy of Pokemon began to swirl away like a Grimer down an old toilet. My fiancé asked why I looked like I was about to cry, and I mumbled something like "it's call over now."And then I realized that my phone autocorrected to use my work email to sign in, and when I used my alternate email I found everything just as I had left it, sweet sweet blissful truth. The feeling of relief was like releasing a perfect IV Grimer.I am a dumbass, but I witnessed the darkness and it was not cool.
