"As somebody unfamiliar with gym battling and prestiging, is there a guide of "what CP against what" works best to improve and take down gyms?"

#PokemonGO: As of now, I throw my best guys at them and try my best to beat everybody. What is a more efficient method using my lower CP evolved mons?Edit: Solved! Thank you for all the amazing advice. As a general rule, gym prestige you win per battle is calculated based upon CP of the defender and CP of the max Pokemon in your party. Even if I don't use a Pokemon in battle its CP is still taken into consideration. Each individual battle is calculated independently of the others. The maximum amount of prestige increase is 1000 per individual battle. If I'm competing against a team of six 2000 CP Pokemon with a low Pokemon of 500 I would need to beat all 7 with 250 CP Pokemon to get the full 7000. Alternatively I could use Pokemon of 1000 CP and receive 100 Prestige points for beating the 500 CP Pokemon but still receive 1000 for the remaining six receiving a total of 6100 prestige points. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ntaB9N
