"[Discussion] "The Sheep with Golden Wool": some thoughts about Mareep"

#PokemonGO: I wanted to share some of my thoughts regarding Mareep) and its evolutionary line, and their implementation in Pokémon GO.First of all: Mareep is a fairly common Pokémon in the original GameBoy Color games where it first appeared: Gold, Silver and Crystal. After traveling a couple of routes in the game, you could easily encounter this fluffy Pokémon, and make it part of your team if you wanted.Thus, I ask myself (and you fellow players): What is going on with Mareep and its extreme rarity in Pokémon GO? I have read that Ampharos, the final stage of Mareep's evolutionary line, has the potential of becoming a powerful asset in the Pokémon GO meta. Nonetheless, does this fact justify its rarity? Mareep hatches from 10 km eggs, and the latest Silph Study regarding rarity tiers in egg species classifies Mareep as rare --in other words, the probabilty of hatching a Mareep from a 10 km egg is lower than hatching other 10 km egg Pokémon. (That Mareep hatches from 10 km eggs is already very strange for me to grasp).What can I say, apart from the fact that this breaks my heart? Mareep is one of my all-time favorites, and I expected it to be relatively common when Gen 2 launched. I also liked the idea of finally being able to get access to an electric type (which are not easy to come by, at least in my biome) and throw it in the mix of high-tier Pokémon. It sounded like fun.I really want to hear other traveler's thoughts on the subject. I am genuinely confused about the rarity of Mareep in Pokémon GO.
