"Rhyhorn candies for future use"

#PokemonGO: Even though Gen 4 may be months or even a year away from now, it may be wise to plan ahead as PoGo is also a game of resources(candies, stardust, etc).As some might not know, Rhyhorn has a third evolution, Rhyperior, which is available when Gen 4 rolls out. Rhyperior has crazy stats and would rank second, if I am not mistaken, next to Slaking, which is from Gen 3, based on highest CP.Since we have access to it's pre-evolution. It would be wise to get ready for it before it steps on our game meta.So Tip #1: Rack up on those candies. Use the time now to gather up candies since he is a bit more common now compared to the current meta Pokemon. His spawn frequency might significantly go down when all of the other Pokemon gets introduced to the game.Tip #2: Keep those high IV ones. This is a no brainer. Every single increase of CP may it be 10 or 1 is very crucial if you are competing for gym placement. We have to accept it. This is how our gym game works.Tip #3: (This is kind of debatable) Unless you really need him, don't evolve your Rhyhorn yet. Currently, you need 50 candies to evolve your Rhyhorn to Rhydon. Similarly, before the roll-out of Gen 2, Horsea and Zubat has the same candy requirement to evolve them to their respective Stage 2's. When Gen 2 came, Horsea and Zubat's candy requirement for evolution was decreased to 25 due to the introduction of their Stage 3's. That is technically 25 candies lost for each Horsea and Zubat we evolved pre-Gen 2. With that system, we can assume that the candy requirement for Rhydon would drop to 25 too when Gen 4 comes. Evolving now versus evolving during Gen 4 would save you 25 candies per evolution. As I said, the last one is quite debatable since you would be wasting a possible gym defender for x number of months waiting for Gen 4. But if you really really want value for all of your resources, then you may want to consider my last point.I might need to put up a disclaimer here though. Since the gym game will get a rework, this may not apply until the fourth Gen comes. Even if the gym game stays the same until Gen 4, the meta will be destroyed in Gen 3. Slaking will be introduced and every gym will be filled with those sloths. Slaking has the highest CP of all non-legendary Pokemon of all generations. As crazier as it gets, he can have 3k CP even at Pokemon level 20. Niantic needs to address their broken gym system before these things wreck the meta. But then... this would be a different topic I would like to discuss about.TL:DR: Save your Rhyhorn candies, hold on to your high IV Rhyhorns, and do not evolve your Rhyhorns yet unless you have a need to use them. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2nMhXCT
