"The mystery behind the 40 spins to unban a softban (speculation)"

#PokemonGO: If you have ever encountered a softban caused by a gps glitch or incorrect sniping ;) you know you can fix this by performing 40 spins or throws. But most of you don't know why 40 is the magic number here. So I did some digging and speculation about the reason. I am very curious what you think. For me it's because niantic only record the 40 last actions. Check your journal to see that you cannot scroll down a more the about 40 entries. Now the softban algorythm compares your throw gps location to the average location of your last 40 records. If it is closeby, nothing is wrong. But if it is too far? Pooof. A soft ban. This algorythm also looks at the time difference between the last action to allow a certain distance to be possible. Something like the amount of km a train or plane could do.Now if you have a gps glitch, one location gets stored that throws off the average a lot. You need to get rid of this record by doing 40 actions, so it falls off.Maybe you think, why don't they store more then 40? It takes a lot more space to store and it makes the average calculations longer to process. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2oFUTH7
