CHINANow why do I believe this? Because of the fact that Pokemon have teased the future of the main series games once before. Like in X&Y, we got the Strange Souvenir from a backpacker in one of the hotels and people speculated that the next Pokemon games were going to set on Hawaii or the Melanesia islands (based on the Tide Song Hotel looking like the Raffles Hotel in Singapore) and of course, we got Sun & Moon which was based in Hawaii.Our only tidbit of hints regarding the future 8th generation is the Title Defence challenger from an UNKNOWN region named Ryuki who uses DRAGON types and wears a RED suit. Chinese Dragons and the colour red are extremely popular in China. Not only that, but most of the names of important bosses in the franchise are based on types of flora. For example:Erika's name is based on the Erica genusJasmine's name is based on the flower (and also the mineral :P)As far as I know, only the non-English names of important Hoenn characters are named after flora (except Prof. Birch)Sadly, I couldn't find many English names based on flora for the Sinnoh characters besides Prof. Rowan. The only ones I could find were the Frontier Brains Palmer and Thorton.The Gym Leaders Cilan, Cress and Chili names are based on a herb, a vegetable and a fruit. Along with the Elite Four member Caitlin whose name is based on Cattleya, the former Champion Alder and the current Champion and former Gym Leader Iris whose name is based on the flaming dragon iris.All Kalos Gym Leaders, Elite Four and Champion's names seem to be based on some type of flora.The same goes for the Alolan Trial Captains, Island Kahunas and Elite Four.Ryuki's name is based off the Japanese name for dragon (ryū) and black nightshade (ryuki) which is a type of FLORA.
