"Rural players: what would you "tag" as new Pokéstops?"

#PokemonGO: Firstly thanks for being such a great community! The work, research and dedication of everyone on this sub is astounding. With the news of high level ingress players being able to review submitted portals, it got me wondering about the best way of correcting the Urban Rural disparity.Let's just imagine that sometime in the near future Niantic allow high level Pokemon Go players to submit new Pokestops or verify new Pokestops in their nearby area. Inherently there's a bias towards the high level players being Urban due to the ease of access of existing Pokestops, Gyms and Pokemon - which in itself creates more of a disparity. The next problem is the ease of tagging landmarks and places of interest as Pokestops and gyms. Whilst large cities have tonnes of potential buildings, places, sculptures and art pieces that could be "justified" as being a Pokestop - the truth is these are few and far between out in the woods and the fields. For example, a long trail and woodland walk I often visit has no Pokestops and I'm finding it hard to think of "features" I would tag as potential pokestops. A huge park I've visited has a lake with one Pokestop for the entire lake.I've had ideas of tagging small interesting flowers, or trees, but these vary with the season. I also wondered if regular tagging of the rural trails/walks could both be beneficial for outlining a path or direction of the main route - or perhaps numbered stops as markers for different routes and destinations along the trails? In any case I thought it might be a good idea to exchange ideas or simply brainstorm a few ideas. Or perhaps I'm totally wrong and there's an obvious solution! Thanks guys!Edit:Of particular note and interest: http://ift.tt/2qaRUsU criteria specifically state NOT to submit "natural or seasonal" portal suggestions, which invariably reduces the chance of more Pokestops out in the countryside and rural settings. :(Edit 2: After some more thought it's apparent that there's a huge missed opportunity. I've explored my local area and have tracked some of the best and most exciting routes through the woods and hedgerows. I forage and explore, and would love to share the natural places I've discovered with other Pokemon Go players - even if I've never met them. Not all walks have signposts or even directions in the real world, yet AR could allow an ever permanent yet non intrusive way of adding them through Pokestops. If we ever do get the chance to submit Pokestops I'd love the restrictions not to be so harsh. Clearly there needs to be a balance and some reasonable way of confirming stops. I'm open to suggestions. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2r8MrRK
