"What with the inconsistency of Bulbasaur's official color?"
I just noticed this while I was trying to color a drawing of Bulbasaur I did.Its color has been changed many times and still it has no constant color.First, look at its official Ken Sugimori artwork of R/G/B. It's Blue despite being representative of Pokémon Green. This artwork was retconned later to be Green and the release artwork was also Green. Though Sugimori colored Bulbasaur Blue in his TCG artwork againThe second artwork was later changed to Blue for the Gameboy printer and the animeIn all of pre-Gen7 sprites, Bulbasaur battle sprites since Gen3 are Blue/Teal but its overworld sprite is Green.Heck its FR/LG artwork is Green which is not the case with its front/back battle sprites as seen in the previous link. Then we have the DreamWorld artwork where it's blue again and then it's 3D model is now Green starting with Gen6, even though its X/Y promo toy is blue.Aside from that model, in PokeDex 3D Pro app it has a Blue 3D model which is different than the Gen6 model's color. In Pokémon Pinball it's both Blue and Green in the same game.In Mystery Dungeon, all of its sprites were Green, but its official artwork turned it to Blue starting with SMD.Bulbasaur in the anime was Blue until several seasons later, where it got more greenish but in the BW season, it went back to Blue though a different blue than the earlier seasons.Despite it didn't change color in Pokemon Chronicles, it's Green in box cover artworkIts modern anime artwork is Green, but in the anime it's more Blueish than thatThe most recent render of it in the TCG during the 20th anniversary, made it more Blue than GreenAs you can see it has no constant color, and it varies between a media and other which is really weird. Even when it's blue or green, the degree of either colors differ significantly sometimes. What do you think of this? via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2pD9odM
