"An Issue I'd Like to See Addressed Regarding New Content within a Generation"

(TL;DR at the bottom)We know that later games in a generation introduce new forms of Pokémon not found in the first set of games. Platinum had Giratina-O, Shaymin-Sky, and the Rotom forms. B2W2 had the Kyurem fusions and the Therian Formes. ORAS had Primals, new Megas, Hoopa Unbound, and even new moves. USUM will also bring new forms, with Ultra Solgaleo and Lunala as far as we know.Different generations have handled communication with the first games differently. In Gen 4, you couldn't take the Griseous Orb into the Union room and Rotom and Shaymin would revert to their default forms. In Gen 6, Kalos rules applied when communicating with XY players, banning new Mega Stones and moves. XY and ORAS also couldn't communicate with each other for the Battle Maison even when following Kalos rules. However, Gen 5 allowed the new forms to stay intact when communicating with BW players. With the 3DS's ability to give software updates, I wondered why the new ORAS content wasn't patched into XY to allow for unrestricted communication, or had Gen 5's backwards compatibility system. This time around, can SM receive an update with all the new stuff from USUM so this problem won't repeat itself from Gen 6?TL;DR: Give SM an update with new USUM content so communication between the two sets of games isn't restricted to what was only in SM. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2rWhK2N
