"Complaint I haven't been able to get coins for 5 days even though I hold gyms..."

#PokemonGO: So what exactly is the reward for holding gyms for an extended period? I mean, the whole idea is to take over gyms and defend them, but the current system endorses using terrible Pokemon in the hope the get kicked out before they've been there for 8 hours. Why does a Pokemon that's done its job in defending a gym for a week get the same as one that's sat there for half a week?I used to be able to get 20 or 30 coins a day, and I was extremely happy with that. I get that Niantic needed to change the gym system, and I'm glad they tried to mix things up, but in this current gym system I can't afford incubators or raid passes. In fact, I hadn't put ANY money into the game until now to get raid passes.It's just frustrating that it seems Niantic kinda overlooked areas where not many people play and gyms stay the same team for weeks at a time.EDIT: I don't know how to format.
