"Is it just me, or is Sun and Moon's plot literally Evangelion?"

Warning: Evangelion spoilers.So what if I told you there was a fictional story, written in Japan, that told of a world threatened by alien-like beings invading from a distant location. A shady organization creates a small handful of godlike beings designed to fight these invaders. However, these created lifeforms are too powerful and difficult to control, and must be heavily restrained. This doesn't work forever, as eventually one breaks through these restraints after interaction with a particular young man. This young man is the heavily neglected son of the head leader of the organization and project, who has lost their significant other, who have died/disappeared in an experiment, yet remain tied to the world of the living. This leader of the organization is ready to watch the world as we know it be essentially destroyed in order to be re-united with their loved one. Eventually, someone else foils the plan of the (batshit insane) organization leader, who as this point has abandoned their previous ally. Stuff goes down though, and someone combines with something, causing even crazier chaos and a really damn awesome ending.I noticed a lot of similarities with the UB/Type:Null and Angel/Evangelion unit backstories and the characters Lusamine and Gendo, so I decided to whip this up.
